Platform Engineer | Hedge Fund | London | up to £300k TC

You don't need a hedge fund background for this one. You need to know how to run Kubernetes at serious scale.

I'm partnered with one of the leading funds in London and New York, and they're investing heavily in Platform Engineering and Developer Experience. This is a particularly strong opportunity for someone coming from a high-scale technology environment who wants to take on a bigger engineering challenge without needing finance on their CV.

The team builds the platforms that enable engineers, researchers and investment teams to build, test, ship and run software at serious scale.

You'll be working on large-scale, highly distributed infrastructure, solving the kinds of engineering problems that come with supporting a global technology organisation. The focus is on building reliable platforms, improving developer experience and making it easier for engineers to ship software at scale.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You'll be running Kubernetes clusters, working at the infrastructure level and getting into low-level configuration, including technologies such as Istio.

What you'll bring

  • Strong experience in Platform Engineering, SRE or DevOps
  • Hands-on experience running and managing Kubernetes clusters
  • Comfortable working with Kubernetes at a low level, including configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Istio or service mesh technologies
