Platform Engineer | 6-Month Contract | £500/day | Outside IR35 | Fully Remote
I’m currently looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join a large-scale technology environment on an initial 6-month contract.

About the role
You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the core cloud infrastructure and platform services that underpin a critical technology environment. The focus is heavily around automation, scalability, security, and operational excellence, working closely with DevOps, Security, and Operations teams to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.

- Strong experience with cloud services and cloud-native technologies
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient cloud solutions
- Strong programming/scripting skills, particularly Python
- Strong Terraform experience
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies
- Good knowledge of cloud security principles and security controls
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience supporting and resolving complex platform/infrastructure issues
- Comfortable working across cross-functional teams
Key responsibilities
- Implement and maintain core cloud platform components, including networking, security, and governance
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using IaC and CI/CD
- Develop reusable Terraform modules, IaC templates, and automation scripts
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and security
- Troubleshoot incidents and implement remediation quickly
- Work closely with Cloud Security, Development, and Operations teams
- Continuously improve scalability, cost-efficiency, and maintainability
- Support colleagues and contribute to improving cloud engineering practices
