🚀 Platform Engineering Manager

💰 £110,000 + bonus
📍 SW London (1 day per week)
🏢 Permanent

We're supporting a rapidly growing, professional services business as they hire their first dedicated Platform Engineering Manager.

Having recently invested in building a platform capability, the business is now looking for an experienced leader to take ownership of the function, define the strategy, and build out a team that will support multiple engineering squads across the organisation.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of platform engineering within a business that is embracing a platform-as-a-product mindset, with a focus on developer enablement, self-service tooling, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence.

The Role

  • Lead and grow a Platform Engineering team, with plans to expand significantly over the next 12 months.
  • Define the platform vision, operating model, and roadmap.
  • Drive adoption of self-service tooling and developer platforms across engineering teams.
  • Partner with senior technology leaders to improve developer experience and engineering productivity.
  • Build strong relationships across engineering, data, and technology teams.
  • Establish platform standards, governance, and ways of working.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop Platform Engineers as the function scales.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
