Platform Engineering Manager/Consultant

We’re looking for a Platform Engineering Manager/Consultant to join our team in London, United Kingdom in a hybrid working mode. This role sits within EPAM’s Data & Platform Practice and focuses on delivering scalable, client-centric data and AI platform solutions. You will serve as a bridge between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery while resolving technical challenges. Strong expertise in Databricks is essential, AWS experience is preferred, and knowledge of Tableau and SAP is advantageous. This role offers an opportunity to influence strategic initiatives, lead platform delivery, and drive innovation for data-enabled solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee end-to-end data and AI platform delivery, ensuring quality and timely execution
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and client stakeholders to manage expectations
  • Drive the design and implementation of Databricks-centric platforms and related data products
  • Guide teams in leveraging AWS storage and compute services for platform optimization
  • Own integration with Tableau to enable actionable visualizations for clients
  • Support SAP data integration and migration activities as required
  • Identify and remove technical blockers to ensure smooth project execution
  • Promote best practices in platform engineering, DevOps, and cloud operations within delivery teams
  • Conduct regular project reviews and progress updates with client stakeholders
  • Contribute to solution architecture, documentation, and knowledge sharing processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in platform/data engineering or related roles
  • Extensive experience with Databricks, with certification considered highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native technologies
  • Proven experience using Tableau for data visualization and reporting
  • Ability to manage client relationships and deliver business-focused solutions
  • Track record of leading technical teams and resolving delivery challenges
  • Deep understanding of data engineering principles, ETL processes, and cloud architectures
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
