Platforms AI Champion
Location: London/Swindon – Hybrid
We are hiring an AI Champion to accelerate safe, effective adoption of AI across the Platforms department. You will identify and evaluate high-impact AI use cases, enable and train engineering teams, and integrate AI into our developer and platform workflows—optimising speed, quality, and reliability while meeting our regulatory and security standards (e.g. PCI DSS, GDPR, and EU AI Act readiness).
You will act on behalf of the Platforms department as the connective tissue between Platform Engineering, SRE, Developer Experience, Cloud/Infra, Security, Data, and Delivery, building the guardrails, tooling, and practices that help teams leverage AI responsibly and measurably improve outcomes.
What you will be doing:
- Design and deliver product solutions aligned to business and market needs.
- Translate business objectives into functional product capabilities.
- Embed security, compliance, scalability, and resilience into designs.
- Develop and maintain design standards, guidelines, and component libraries.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, architecture, and QA.
- Create user journeys, process flows, capability maps, and personas.
- Prioritise design activities based on business value and feasibility.
- Continuously improve designs through feedback and data-driven insights.
- Champion design best practices and consistency across products.
- Ensure alignment with architectural principles and technology standards.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments.
- Facilitate workshops, design reviews, and ideation sessions.
- Manage shared design assets to support efficient delivery.
- Balance innovation with technical feasibility and time-to-market requirements.
- Define and track design metrics to measure user and business outcomes.

What you will bring:
Essential:
- Strong experience in software engineering, platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or developer experience.
- Proven track record of leading AI initiatives from pilot to production, delivering measurable business outcomes. Strong understanding of modern PayTech platform technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, Terraform, Env0, and developer tooling.
- Solid understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements within PayTech and financial services, including PCI DSS and GDPR.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements across engineering, compliance, and business teams.
- Proven ability to drive enablement through hands-on workshops, clear documentation, and community engagement.
- Data-driven mindset with experience defining and tracking KPIs, and using telemetry, usage metrics, and cost modelling to support decision-making.
