Gross weekly earnings on days: £1,922.03 local / £2,192.03 travelling
Gross weekly earnings on nights: £2,245.65 local / £2,515.65 travelling
Lodging allowance: £45 per day for eligible travelling workers
Weekly figures are based on 60 hours and are gross before PAYE deductions.
About the Role
We are recruiting experienced Plating / Fabrication Supervisors for a major structural fabrication requirement in the Levenmouth area of Fife.
The contract is expected to run for 10+ months. You will lead frontline plating and fabrication teams working on substantial structural steel assemblies within a busy industrial environment.
Day and night shift opportunities are available. The weekly earnings below are based on 60 hours, with a daily lodging allowance available to eligible travelling workers.
There is also an opportunity to move from temporary to permanent employment, subject to performance and the client's requirements.
This role would suit an experienced Plater or Fabricator with proven supervisory skills who is looking for a longer contract and the possibility of a permanent position.

The Work
As Plating / Fabrication Supervisor, you will plan daily activities and coordinate your team to meet production targets. Typical duties are expected to include:
- Supervising and supporting plating and fabrication teams
- Planning daily activities and allocating tasks and resources
- Ensuring work follows drawings, specifications and procedures
- Leading safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Monitoring quality and addressing defects or rework
- Tracking progress against production targets
- Reporting risks, issues and resource constraints to management
- Supporting attendance, onboarding and team performance
- Providing guidance and supporting team development
Previous supervisory experience within heavy engineering, structural fabrication, marine engineering or shipbuilding would be particularly relevant.

Travelling totals include the taxable lodging allowance for six days worked, subject to eligibility. All figures are gross before PAYE deductions and depend on the hours and shifts available.
Requirements
- An apprenticeship, advanced fabrication qualification or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong plating or fabrication experience within heavy engineering
- Previous experience supervising operational teams
- Ability to read drawings and work to specifications
- Ability to plan work and coordinate tasks and resources
- Good people management and communication skills
- A practical approach to safety and production quality
- Ability to identify and report defects or production constraints
- Able to complete onboarding and BPSS security clearance
