Playworker Sawbridgeworth After-School and Breakfast Clubs

GBP14.25-GBP16.65 per hour Flexible Zero-Hours Work

Are you an experienced Playworker looking for flexible, part-time work in Sawbridgeworth? Reeson Education is recruiting for school club cover, helping children enjoy a safe, welcoming and engaging start or end to their day.

This opportunity suits a reliable Playworker who is comfortable with ad-hoc shifts and short-notice requests, including occasional calls on the day cover is needed.

Role Highlights for a Playworker

  • Position: Playworker.
  • Pay: GBP14.25-GBP16.65 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Location: Sawbridgeworth, CM21.
  • After-school club: 3:00-6:00pm.
  • Occasional breakfast club: 7:30-9:00am.
  • Contract: Zero-hours, with shifts offered as and when required.
  • Start: ASAP, following registration and safeguarding checks.

Your Role as a Playworker

As a Playworker, you will help supervise children before or after school, providing enjoyable activities and supporting positive relationships within the club.

  • Organise games, arts and crafts, outdoor play and other age-appropriate activities.
  • Encourage children to join in, make choices and play cooperatively.
  • Support snack or breakfast routines and help keep the club tidy and organised.
  • Maintain clear boundaries and respond calmly to children’s needs.
  • Follow safeguarding, attendance and collection procedures, communicating clearly with the club team.

What We’re Looking For in a Playworker

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or nursery is essential.
  • A Playworker who is dependable, proactive and confident supervising groups.
  • Availability for afternoon shifts and willingness to consider occasional breakfast cover.
  • Ability to travel to Sawbridgeworth, including for short-notice shifts.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness for one.
  • A childcare or playwork qualification and Paediatric First Aid are advantageous.
