Salary: £51,772 + depending on experience

Job Description:
The PLM Application Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) application environments across global business operations. The role works closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to develop and evolve application infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient system performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installing and configuring applications on client devices using various deployment methods
- Managing application packaging and certification for global software catalogues
- Supporting deployments across development, test, and production environments
- Developing and maintaining application configurations that improve business processes and enhance the end-user experience
- Contributing to the creation and continuous improvement of technical documentation and knowledge base materials
- Supporting testing activities
- Providing timely, accurate communication to internal and external customers
- Diagnosing and resolving application defects
- Implementing patch updates
- Ensuring applications remain secure, stable, and fit for purpose while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence

Core duties:
- Work with vendors to support the creation and evolution of the application environments and infrastructure
- Installation and configuration of applications to client devices, using various deployment methods
- Support, enhance and develop the documentation knowledge base
- Development of application configuration to improve processes and end user experience
- Packaging and certification processing of applications into global catalogues
- Provide support to testing activities
- Client application deployment and support into development, testing and production environments
- Provide information and feedback to internal or external customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner
- Defect resolution and patch updates
Your Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience of working in an application installation or support role in either a Windows or Unix/Linux environment
- Installation and configuration of enterprise applications
- Scripting experience with Windows PowerShell, DOS, UNIX, Perl, Javascript, SQL scripting
- Knowledge on software configuration management, specifically GIT
- Customer service and stakeholder management experience within an IT environment
- Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter would be ideal but not essential
The Engineering Future Capability team:
You will be working as part of the Engineering Future Capability team, which consists of 5 professional engineers, supporting and implementing existing and future capability for engineering programmes across the air sector.
The work within the team is very varied and involves constantly evolving workstreams. This also includes additional work streams with major programmes to bolster the currently delivered toolset and provide increased development, release cadence and grow the product set sector wide.
