Our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) practice

Our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) practice helps manufacturers build better products, define better processes, and reduce costs. As an engineering services organization, we use the processes and software we recommend to our clients. We leverage two decades of PLM domain expertise, industry-leading software partnerships, innovative training services, and a laser-like focus on understanding the product development challenges specific to each of our clients.

The Role

Our customer is an Automotive company and its PLM Department is responsible for all aspects of PLM Toolset selection, implementation, deployment, use and support for the business. We are seeking people who are adept as Trainers (PLM line of Business preferred). Trainers in Tata Technologies are responsible for developing the competence of its customer employees by participating in the development, delivery and evaluation of learning and development events, with reference to induction, mandatory and continuing professional development events. These events must be delivered within context of the values of its customer company.

The trainer will be responsible for evaluating our needs and current practices and creating and delivering a training development plan complete with materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources such as online modules and guides. The goal is to promote efficiency and competitive advantage by developing the skills of personnel.

Area of Responsibility

  • Develop curriculum and design training courses for ALM Toolset Modules (Jira, XRAY) for requirement management and Test management from system engineering
  • Administer training with the ability to deliver, project and motivate trainees through effective training methodologies both online and offline (if required) in group and individual classroom dynamics
  • Conduct needs assessment and identify performance gaps and implementing training best practices to ensure alignment with company needs
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to create industry-specific course content
  • Evaluate success of training implementation by assessing achievement of learning objectives and transfer of knowledge to continuously improve training solutions and identify future learning needs
  • Utilize a variety of techniques, concepts and development and delivery of training programs and strategies
  • Manage the learning experience consistent with company philosophy and company-wide strategy
  • Critically examining the trainees’ understanding and progress and making necessary adjustments to the program
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Knowledge / Experience

  • In instructional design, curriculum development and training delivery or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Must have a training portfolio for ALM software Jira/XRAY for system engineering functionalities
  • Awareness of OOTB capabilities of JIRA/XRAY for various modules
  • Training & Development certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of IBM ALM Toolset for automotive is preferred
  • Configuration knowledge of Jira/XRAY added advantage
  • Proven experience as corporate trainer
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in corporate teaching
  • Proficient in MS Office (esp. Powerpoint); e-learning software is an asset
  • Phenomenal communication, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Organizational and time management abilities
  • Critical thinking and decision making
  • Good working knowledge with tools (GitLab, SVN) and ALM tools like JIRA
  • Functional experience in product development in Automotive domain
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), DevOps, Continuous Integration and cloud technologies is a plus point
  • Working experience with Agile approaches LeSS, SAFe, Kanban is required
