This is an exciting opportunity to join our Naval Nuclear Clyde team, supporting critical estate infrastructure within one of the UK's most important defence environments. You'll play a key role in ensuring essential plumbing systems remain safe, compliant and operational, directly contributing to the effectiveness of the facilities that support national security.
The role
As a Plumber, you'll undertake a wide range of plumbing activities across estate systems and equipment, helping to maintain safe, reliable and efficient facilities. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will make a real difference, ensuring planned maintenance is completed to a high standard while identifying and resolving faults before they impact operations. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic engineering environment while supporting work that matters.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities across estate plumbing systems and equipment.
- Identifying, diagnosing and rectifying system defects, faults and alterations.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with current procedures, quality standards and timescales.
- Working safely in compliance with health and safety legislation, safe systems of work and control of work processes.
- Contributing improvement ideas to enhance productivity, efficiency and system performance.

This role is 40 hours per week, based at HM Naval Base Clyde. Set working times are Monday to Friday. This is a full-time onsite role.
Essential experience of the Plumber:
- Experience working on commercial or industrial plumbing systems and associated maintenance activities.
- Experience in Legionella disinfection of water supply systems within buildings.
- Knowledge of Legionellosis control within hot and cold-water systems.
- Experience undertaking water systems hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Understanding of relevant health, safety and compliance requirements, including manual handling practices.
Qualifications for the Plumber:
- Recognised Plumbing Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Valid UK Driving Licence.
- Asbestos Awareness certification.
- Confined Space Competent Person certification.
- Emergency First Aid qualification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
