The Plumber and Heating Engineer role is a full-time, mobile position based in Aberdeen and surrounding areas. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, heating systems, and associated pipework in residential, commercial, and industrial premises. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Diagnosing faults
- Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance
- Completing testing and commissioning
- Ensuring work is compliant with relevant regulations and safety standards
The Plumber and Heating Engineer will collaborate with other trades, follow technical drawings and specifications, accurately record work carried out, and communicate clearly with supervisors, colleagues, and clients. The role will also include participation in an on-call rota.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in plumbing installation, maintenance, and fault-finding, including pipework, fixtures, and sanitary systems.
- Experience with heating systems, such as boilers, radiators, and associated controls, including commissioning and servicing.
- Sound understanding of relevant building services regulations, safety standards, and best practices in plumbing and heating.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and job documentation, with good attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on multi-trade sites and interact professionally with clients.
- Recognized trade qualification in plumbing and/or heating engineering (e.g., NVQ/SVQ or equivalent), with valid industry certifications where applicable.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various sites in and around Aberdeen.
- Previous experience in the construction or building services sector is required.
