Plumber - Cylinder Manufacturer & Plumbing Maintenance

Plumbing, Heating or Gas Engineer

1 Edinburgh, Falkirk, Dunfermline and Eastern area

One of the UK's leading manufacturers of hot water cylinders and thermal storage solutions, are seeking a Plumbing & Heating Field Engineer, to join the engineering team.

The Role

Based from home, as a Plumber Engineer, you'll provide plumbing diagnostics, repairs, commissioning & maintenance, across a range of products, including unvented & vented cylinders, heat pump systems, and thermal stores.

In addition to undertaking warranty work, we work with the UK's largest retirement apartment providers, undertaking plumbing maintenance & repair across their residential apartments.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults on hot water cylinders and related components (immersion heaters, valves, pumps, sensors, controls).
  • Complete planned maintenance, warranty repairs, and product upgrades.
  • Ensure all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Complete service reports, job sheets, and warranty documentation accurately.
  • Adhere to G3 regulations and all compliance requirements.
  • Provide clear explanations of system operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach at all times.
  • Share field feedback to support product development.
  • Attend training sessions and keep technical knowledge up to date.

Your Skills & Experience

You will have a customer focused approach, a great communicator coupled to either previous plumbing maintenance & repair experience, heating or gas engineer experience and a full UK driving licence.

You Will Also Possess

  • Experience with hot water systems, unvented cylinders, thermal stores, or domestic heating systems.
  • Strong diagnostics and fault-finding skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Advantageous

  • G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.
  • Experience with heat pump cylinders or hybrid heating systems.
  • Electrical competency (17th/18th Edition or equivalent).

Remuneration & Benefits

Based from home our engineers work Monday to Friday on a 45hr week, including paid travel from door to door.

An additional one day is worked on a weekend rota every six weeks, paid at overtime.

  • Competitive salary (£39,000 to £43,000 based on experience).
