Permanent, Full Time
Responsive Repairs Team - 40 hours weekly worked on an 8 weekly rota as per below:
- Weeks 1-6 – Monday -Friday 8am – 5pm (including 1 hour lunch)
- Weeks 7&8 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am – 5pm. Wednesday 8am – 12pm. Saturday 8:30am – 12:30pm

Responsible for the delivery and completion of plumbing repairs within customers’ homes. As a Plumber, you will use your technical knowledge, experience, and trade skills to diagnose and complete a wide range of plumbing repairs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
You will be committed to providing excellent customer service, achieving high levels of first-time fix, and delivering positive outcomes for our customers.
As a valued member of the bpha In House Maintenance Service Team you will be provided with Uniform, Tools, Company Van (for business use only) and a fuel card.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance works within occupied and void properties.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs to a high standard, ensuring long-lasting solutions.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain professional, courteous communication with customers at all times.
- Adhere to all SHEQ policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
- Maintain van stock levels and procure materials responsibly through approved suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, schedulers, colleagues, and customers
- Attend mandatory training, toolbox talks, one-to-ones, and appraisals.
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, equipment, and property are maintained and fit for purpose
- Maximise first-time fix rates, productivity, and quality of workmanship.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and work collaboratively across the team.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Compliance with statutory, regulatory, and SHEQ requirements.
- High customer satisfaction levels and positive customer feedback.
- First-time fix performance and productivity measures.
- Quality of workmanship, post-inspections, and low defect/recall rates.
- Efficient use of materials, van stock, and approved products.
- Accurate completion of job records and reporting requirements.
Person Specification
Essential
- Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively.
- Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to completion.
- High attention to detail and quality standards.
- Basic IT literacy for using handheld devices and job management systems.
- Excellent knowledge of domestic plumbing installations, fault diagnosis, and repair.
- Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Experience working under time constraints and productivity targets.
Desirable
- Experience in an additional construction trade.
- Experience working within occupied homes.
- Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates.
- Training and experience relating to non-licensed asbestos works.
- Water Regulations and Unvented Hot Water experience.

Qualifications
- GCSEs or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2 or higher in Plumbing, or City & Guilds 6189 Plumbing & Domestic Heating Level 2 or higher.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- C&G 3345 Water Regulations & Unvented Hot Water qualification.
- Part P Electrical qualification.
- CSCS Card
- First Aid Training
