An excellent opportunity for an experienced Plumber/Bathroom Installer to join a well-established company

Job Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

Salary: £19-21 per hour

Location: Plymouth, Devon and surrounding areas

Job Type: Full time opportunity - Initial Subcontract or permanent employment routes available

About The Company:

They specialise in professionally managed, high-quality bathroom and wetroom installations across private homes and premium holiday properties. The company’s reputation is built on craftsmanship, professionalism, communication and close attention to detail.

The role would suit an experienced plumber who takes genuine pride in producing organised, accurate and thoroughly tested first-fix plumbing ready for the next stage of installation.

Working alongside the Company Director and their existing installation team, your primary responsibility will be completing bathroom and wetroom first-fix plumbing accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Stripping out existing bathroom plumbing and sanitaryware.
  • Assessing existing services and identifying potential issues.
  • Installing and altering hot and cold-water services.
  • Installing soil pipes, wastes and associated drainage.
  • Completing heating and towel-radiator alterations.
  • Positioning services accurately from approved designs and layouts.
  • Pressure testing and checking installations before walls and floors are closed.
  • Recording and reporting unforeseen or additional works.
  • Supporting second-fix bathroom installation where required.
  • Maintaining clean, organised and professional working areas.
  • Communicating clearly with the Director and wider installation team.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven plumbing experience, particularly within bathrooms and wetrooms.
  • Strong first-fix knowledge and the ability to plan service routes accurately.
  • Experience working with hot and cold services, wastes, soil, heating and sanitaryware.
  • The ability to read and work accurately from approved layouts.
  • Confidence using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
  • High standards of workmanship and pride in leaving work ready for the next trade.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.

Experience with studwork, plasterboarding, floor preparation, tanking or general bathroom fitting would be advantageous but strong plumbing and first-fix capability is the priority.

References and examples of previous work will be required.

Work Arrangements and pay:

They are open to discussing either of the following arrangements with the right candidate:

Initial subcontract opportunity

  • £21.00 per hour.
  • Approximately 42.5 hours available per week.
  • Equivalent potential gross invoicing of approximately £46,410 annually, based on 42.5 hours being worked and invoiced across 52 weeks.
  • Initial six-month program of work anticipated, subject to projects, performance and the agreed subcontract terms.
  • Opportunity to discuss permanent employment following a successful working period.

Permanent employment opportunity

  • £17.50 per hour.
  • Approximately £38,675 gross per year based on 42.5 paid hours per week.
  • Performance-based bonus scheme.
  • 20 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service.
  • Workplace pension scheme.
  • Long-term security and progression within the business.
  • Following successful probation and performance review, potential salary progression to £42,500 per year.
  • Potential use of a company sign-written van, subject to role requirements and company policy.
