Job Description
Title of Position: Plumber/mechanical engineer
Hours: 08.00-17.00 Monday to Friday
Location: Lewisham Hospital, (Oct-March), then mobile
Vehicle: A company vehicle will be provided following end of probationary period
Contract: Permanent
Title Position Reports to: Artic Contract Manager
Day to day responsibilities
Plumbing duties
- Keeping records of stock
- Survey jobs and notify your team leader of materials required.
- Keeping a PDA up to date
Knowledge
- Must have a sound knowledge of Plumbing and leak detection
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years commercial Plumbing experience, such as hospitals, schools, residential buildings, university’s, offices.
- Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations regarding maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- You must have a proven track record within the industry with a good steady work record.
- Proof of any trade training/course’s (NVQ/C&G)
- IPAF 3a/3b ticket (ideal but not essential)

Education:
- A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English.
The person:
- Character committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
- To have a calm manner and able to work under pressure. Able to make sound decisions when needed.
- A team player, able to work with the team and client’s representatives at all levels.
- Must be willing to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
- Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
- Must have the right to work in the UK and provide documentation.
Health and Safety
- Always follow Artic company policies and procedures.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
- As a member of the team, you will be required to fulfil our legal duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions, and to follow all guidance and instructions given in this respect.
