Mechanical Facilities Maintenance Engineer
**[Onsite] | **Facilities Engineering | Full-Time (Day Shift)
About the Role
As a Mechanical Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will oversee the maintenance and operation of mechanical plant, equipment, and support systems across bet365’s global property portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Engineer, your mission is to ensure operational reliability by:
- Managing preventative and reactive maintenance across motors, drives, pumps, pipework, LEV systems, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration.
- Enhancing safety through risk assessments and comprehensive method statements for all high-risk tasks.
- Self-managing workloads using bet365’s Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
A key responsibility is joining the Facilities On-Call Team, addressing critical system failures or equipment malfunctions. Therefore, a full UK driving licence is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and servicing of HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration systems to minimise breakdown risk.
- Prioritise emergency and planned maintenance tasks to maintain operational continuity.
- Develop technical documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and procedural guidance for colleagues.
- Manage your own workload effectively via the CMMS, logging tasks and maintenance activities.
- Support the procurement of spare parts aligned with budgetary and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with contractors and external suppliers, monitoring delivery and safest work practices.
- Contribute to project execution in line with CAPEX/OPEX strategies, supporting both planned upgrades and emergency repairs.
- Support after-hours/on-call obligations to ensure business-critical systems remain operational.
- Ensure alignment with health & safety legislation, including COSHH, Asbestos Management, Legionella risk mitigation, and all relevant Company policies.
- Create and maintain records for those in charge (TIC) documentation or area operational documentation.

Person Specification & Requirements
Qualifications & Certifications
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in mechanical/hydraulic engineering, plumbing, or HVAC is essential.
- CSCS card/accreditation or equivalent must be held.
- IPAF (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) [MEWP] and PASMA (Mobile Tower Scaffold) qualifications are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, analytical problem-solving, and technical drawing interpretation is a must.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience with building management systems (BMS), fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs.
- A robust understanding of plumbing, refrigeration, and ventilation systems (IDF, DVC, and ductwork maintenance).
- Knowledge of electrical wiring (up to 1000v), able to provide safe repairs in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
- Experience working under pressure, prioritising tasks while maintaining a strong adhesion to health & safety protocols.
- Excellent communication for team coordination and contractor liaison.
- Historical test evidence of troubleshooting and incident-based reactive responsiveness for critical systems.
- Flexible and proactive approach, with a drive to generate creative solutions.
- Full possession of a UK driving licence (essential for on-call and site travel).
