Job Description

Keep our properties running smoothly as a Plumbing and Mechanical Engineer, bringing your technical expertise to maintain essential heating and water systems.

The Facilities and Services department ensures a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties are maintained effectively. Supporting plumbing and heating services across these varied sites, the team delivers high-quality maintenance and rapid response solutions to keep infrastructure performing at its best.

Stepping into this role involves creating and completing essential maintenance documentation and updating electronic systems. This includes drafting precise written job plans and comprehensive technical reports to ensure all systems remain compliant and efficient.

You will support the department’s on-call rota, including pre-planned works and responding to equipment issues.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ certificate in Mechanical Engineering Services Plumbing
  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (Gas Fired Water & Central Heating Appliances) 600/1134/8 (6189-33)
  • CENWAT Certification and CCN 1 (Domestic) Gas Safe Certificate
  • Knowledge of LEV systems would prove beneficial
  • Certified in unvented heating systems
  • Troubleshooting installations, fault finding and repairs
  • Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with electronic test equipment
  • Ability to follow work instructions, read and interpret technical diagrams and report technical information
  • Possession of a full UK driving licence

Additional Information

  • Execute regular maintenance routines across various properties
  • Diagnose and repair faults on plant equipment including water heaters, calorifiers, motors, pumps, boilers and heating systems
  • Ensure all health and safety obligations are met and coordinated with the project delivery team
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of sites at all times
  • Produce, manage and maintain critical spares lists
