Are you an experienced plumbing professional looking to share your skills and support learners in developing their careers in the construction industry? Fareham College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Lecturer in Plumbing to join on a part-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine teaching and assessing, helping learners develop the practical skills, technical knowledge and workplace behaviours needed for success within the plumbing industry.

About The Role

As a Lecturer in Plumbing, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across our plumbing programmes. You will support students throughout their learning journey, both in the classroom and workshop environment, ensuring they achieve their qualifications and progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, carrying out assessments, monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback to help learners achieve their full potential.

Duties

  • Delivering engaging plumbing theory and practical sessions.
  • Assessing student work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals.
  • Acting as a Personal Tutor and providing pastoral support where required.
  • Monitoring attendance, progress and achievement.
  • Contributing to course quality improvement and curriculum development.
  • Supporting employer engagement, open events and student recruitment activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records relating to teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to provide an outstanding learner experience.
  • Keeping your industry knowledge up to date and sharing current best practice with students.

Experience

We are seeking a motivated individual who:

  • Has substantial industry experience within plumbing and related trades.
  • Holds an assessor qualification or is willing to work towards one.
  • Holds a teaching qualification or is willing to work towards achieving one.
  • Has experience of teaching, training, coaching or assessing learners, or a desire to move into education.
  • Is passionate about supporting learners and helping them succeed.
  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
