Plumbing Lecturer
Permanent
Location: the South West
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus a £4,000 scarce skills joining bonus
Start date: October 2026

About the Role
You will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment in both workshop and classroom settings, drawing on your industry background to help learners build the practical skills and confidence they need. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help students meet targets for attendance, progress and achievement, giving clear feedback and supporting their development in English and maths alongside their trade skills.
You'll adapt your teaching to meet individual needs, remove barriers to learning, and help learners see how the skills they're developing connect to the wider world of work. Alongside your teaching, you'll support institutional events and marketing activities, guide learners towards further study and career options, and work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of health and safety throughout.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering practical and theory-based plumbing teaching across workshop and classroom settings.
- Assessing learner work and providing clear, constructive feedback, including support with English and maths.
- Adapting your teaching to meet individual learner needs and remove barriers to progress.
- Helping learners understand how their skills apply to the wider world of work.
- Supporting institutional events and marketing activities.
- Guiding learners towards further study and career opportunities.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to support learner success.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety in all teaching settings.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Relevant industry experience as a plumber or in a related field
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating, or an equivalent qualification
- Willingness to complete Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding training as part of the role
