Debrief Clerk

£29,800 per annum | 45 hours per week | 12:00pm – 9:00pm
Location: Waltham Cross
Shift Pattern: 2-week rolling shift pattern | 5 over 7, including weekend working

Additional hours may occasionally be required, including evening, night and weekend working, depending on workload and business needs.

About the Role

We are looking for an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Debrief Clerk to join our Distribution team at Waltham Cross.

Reporting to the Distribution Shift Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and efficient return of drivers to the depot. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of paperwork, driver debriefs, checking returned goods and equipment, and supporting the wider Distribution team.

This is a varied administrative role within a fast-paced logistics environment, where accuracy, organisation and communication are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Debrief drivers on their return to the depot, with particular focus on incoming shorts.
  • Check and process paperwork relating to bulk checks, backhauls and goods returned to the depot.
  • Check delivery invoices, ensuring deliveries have been completed and signatures obtained where required.
  • Ensure all company equipment, including phones, keys and Dart Tags, is returned and accounted for.
  • Liaise with the Goods Returned team to ensure returned goods have been processed through Goods In.
  • Receive and report vehicle faults, ensuring these are referred for rectification.
  • Identify and escalate customer queries and issues to the relevant Team Leaders.
  • Complete invoice scanning and uploading accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accurate filing and records.
  • Support Team Leaders with other duties to help expedite drivers' return to the depot.
  • Support existing debrief processes and assist with implementing new processes where required.

What We're Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, grade C/4 or above.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role. Logistics experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach.
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Friendly, helpful and professional manner.
  • Ability to remain calm and accurate when working under pressure.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and willing to take a hands-on approach.
