About the Role

Randstad Education is currently recruiting compassionate and experienced PMLD Learning Support Assistants to work with secondary schools and FE college provisions in Walthamstow and Romford. You will be supporting young people aged 11-19+ who have profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex medical needs, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide intensive 1:1 and small group support in classroom, sensory, and hydrotherapy environments.
  • Deliver comprehensive personal care (including hygiene, changing, feeding/PEG feeding support, and hoist/moving and handling).
  • Implement sensory integration strategies and assist with communication tools (AAC, PECS, Makaton).
  • Support students in achieving their individual EHCP targets and independent living skills.

Requirements

  • Essential: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service covering BOTH Child and Adult Workforce, or a firm commitment for one immediately.
  • Experience supporting PMLD, complex health needs, or severe physical disabilities in education or care settings.
  • Comfortable and confident carrying out routine personal care and physical support.
  • Right to work in the UK.
