PMLD Teacher | Specialist SEN School | South London | Immediate Start

Are you an experienced PMLD Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist SEN setting?

A highly supportive specialist school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated and passionate PMLD Teacher to join their team. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who understands that progress in a specialist setting can look very different for every pupil and is passionate about celebrating those individual achievements.

The PMLD Teacher Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs
  • Develop communication, sensory, physical and independence skills
  • Use a range of approaches to support non-verbal and alternative communication
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other specialist professionals
  • Create a calm, safe and engaging learning environment
  • Track and celebrate individual pupil progress
  • Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching pupils with PMLD, SLD or complex SEN
  • A strong understanding of personalised and sensory-based learning
  • Experience supporting pupils with communication and physical needs
  • Patient, creative and nurturing approach
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys working within a specialist SEN environment
