PMLD Teacher SEN School Croydon

A specialist SEN school in Croydon is seeking a dedicated PMLD Teacher to join their team, supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex individual needs. This is an opportunity for a passionate teacher who enjoys creating a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment, while helping pupils make meaningful progress academically, socially and personally.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, highly differentiated lessons for pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
- Adapt the curriculum to individual abilities, communication styles and developmental needs.
- Support pupils with communication, sensory development, independence and engagement.
- Work closely with SENCOs, therapists, support staff and families to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
- Use creative, sensory and practical approaches to make learning accessible.
- Monitor progress and celebrate small but meaningful steps in development.
- Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.

We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching within PMLD, SLD, complex needs or specialist SEN is desirable.
- A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
- Strong understanding of differentiation and personalised learning.
- Someone who can build positive relationships with pupils and maintain high expectations.
- A genuine passion for helping pupils with complex needs develop communication, independence and confidence.
