The opportunity

A welcoming SEN school environment in Hackney is seeking a dependable Teaching Assistant to help pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities take part in learning, communication and daily school life.

What you will do

  • Provide attentive one-to-one and small-group support throughout the school day.
  • Use sensory approaches and communication systems directed by teachers and therapists.
  • Support mobility, positioning and personal care where trained and authorised.
  • Notice and record small but meaningful changes in engagement and progress.
  • Promote dignity, comfort, safety and positive relationships.

  • Relevant experience in SEN, education, health or care settings.
  • A calm, observant and respectful approach to complex needs.
  • Willingness to complete role-specific moving, handling and care training.
  • QTS is not required for this classroom-support role.
