ESCO Maritime Solutions PMO Analyst Opportunity
ESCO Maritime Solutions, based in Rugeley, Staffordshire, is seeking a motivated and analytical PMO Analyst to join our growing Project Management Office (PMO).
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting project delivery, enhancing project governance, and driving the successful implementation of ESCO's new Project Management tool across the business.
Working closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, and senior stakeholders, you will provide critical insight, reporting, and data analysis that helps improve delivery performance, consistency, and customer outcomes across a diverse portfolio of maritime and defence programmes.
Role Purpose
The PMO Analyst will play a key role in supporting the development and continuous improvement of project, programme, and portfolio management practices across ESCO.
Working closely with Project Managers, Programme Managers, Planners, Scrum Masters, Risk Managers, and senior stakeholders, the role will provide the analysis, reporting, governance, and insight required to enable effective decision making at all levels of the organisation.
A key responsibility of the role will be leading the implementation and ongoing administration of ESCO's new Project Management Tool, ensuring successful adoption, data quality, governance compliance, and the generation of meaningful management information.
Key Responsibilities
PMO Governance & Reporting
- Support the operation of the PMO governance framework across projects and programmes.
- Maintain key PMO metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators.
- Monitor compliance with PMO standards, processes, and governance requirements.
- Support the preparation of materials for leadership reviews, Monthly Programme Reviews (MPRs), Quarterly Programme Reviews (QPRs), and customer-facing governance forums.
- Ensure project information is accurate, complete, and up to date.

Project Management Tool Implementation Lead
- Act as PMO lead for the implementation of ESCO's new Project Management Tool.
- Support configuration, deployment, testing, and rollout activities.
- Work with stakeholders to define reporting, workflow, governance, and dashboard requirements.
- Develop user guidance, training materials, and adoption plans.
- Monitor utilisation, data quality, and process compliance within the new system.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced reporting capability.
- Act as a first point of contact for users requiring support or guidance.
Portfolio Data & Decision Support
- Support the PMO Manager in establishing a robust portfolio management information capability.
- Collect, consolidate, validate, and analyse data from projects, programmes, risk registers, schedules, resource plans, and financial reports.
- Produce portfolio-level insights, trend analysis, and performance reporting.
- Assist in identifying emerging risks, issues, dependencies, and opportunities across the portfolio.
- Provide analytical support to enable informed decision making by senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards and visual reporting products.
Project Controls & Assurance Support
- Support schedule, risk, cost, and resource reporting activities.
- Assist in monitoring project performance against approved baselines.
- Support change control, action tracking, and governance administration.
- Contribute to maturity improvement initiatives and PMO process development.
- Support internal and customer audits, assurance reviews, and governance assessments.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes, governance, and reporting effectiveness.
- Support the implementation of lessons learned and best practice.
- Contribute to the development of PMO standards, templates, guidance, and training materials.
- Promote data-driven decision making across the organisation.

Person Specification
Essential
- Experience working within a PMO, Project Controls, Programme Management, or Project Management environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience producing management information, dashboards, and performance reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with project management and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage and analyse large data sets.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience implementing or administering Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
- Knowledge of project controls disciplines including planning, risk, cost, and resource management.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Jira, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Understanding of portfolio management and governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches.
- APM Qualification or equivalent project management certification.
