PMO Analyst Position

We are seeking an experienced PMO Analyst to join an established financial services organisation, supporting the effective governance, coordination and delivery of a portfolio of business and technology change initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects and programmes are delivered in line with agreed plans, timelines, budgets and governance standards, providing accurate reporting, maintaining delivery controls and supporting senior stakeholders with clear, actionable insights.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) in a financial services environment, ideally within banking, wealth management, insurance or another regulated organisation. They will have a strong understanding of project and programme governance, reporting processes, RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies), milestone tracking and financial management. Experience supporting large-scale transformation programmes would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and enhancing PMO governance, controls and reporting
  • Ensuring project documentation, plans, status reports, action logs and decision registers are accurate, up to date and maintained to a high standard
  • Supporting the production of regular portfolio and programme reporting
  • Helping prepare governance packs and management information for steering committees, programme boards and senior leadership forums
  • Consolidating information from multiple workstreams, analysing delivery performance and identifying trends, risks and potential issues
  • Tracking actions and decisions, monitoring project budgets and forecasts
  • Supporting resource and capacity planning
  • Coordinating project meetings and workshops
  • Ensuring governance activities are completed in accordance with organisational standards
  • Proactively following up on outstanding actions, escalating delivery concerns and helping teams maintain accountability for agreed commitments

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of project and programme governance
  • Proficiency in reporting processes, RAID management, milestone tracking and financial management
  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation programmes is highly advantageous
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on consolidating information from multiple workstreams and identifying trends, risks and potential issues
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using tools such as PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Power BI or similar reporting and project management platforms
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders at different levels
  • Organised, analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work to tight deadlines and build effective relationships across business and technology functions
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement, with a focus on strengthening PMO processes and improving the quality, consistency and transparency of delivery reporting
