PMO Lead

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with offices in Galashiels, is currently looking to recruit a PMO Lead for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £475 - £550/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with some in person attendance at the office in Galashiels, ideally once or twice a week.

Responsibilities:

• Support the effective operation of the organisation’s portfolio, programme and project governance by ensuring standards, tools and reporting are consistently applied.
• Provide high-quality coordination, analysis and delivery support across the PMO, enabling SROs, Project Managers and Project Teams to make informed decisions.
• Undertake a key role in maintaining project hygiene, supporting planning and RAID management, producing accurate reporting for Operational Leads, Executive Team and governance forums, and ensuring PMO processes are followed.
• Lead support for the Head of Business Transformation in preparing timely and meaningful advice to the Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Operating Officer, ensuring emerging issues and risks are escalated as required.
• Act as a knowledgeable practitioner within the Project Delivery community and contribute to continuous improvement of PMO services.
• Support the performance and development of PMO teams in the agency ensuring strong deliverables are managed through objectives linked to the agency business plan.
• Act as owner of programme and project frameworks, templates, and processes. Be responsible for ensuring they are fit for purpose, meet best practice, and are complied with across the organisation.
• Continue to develop a learning culture to build the skills and capability of the team and to foster a strong PPM environment and ethos within the PMO setting.
• Play an active role in the Business Transformation Leadership team.
• Mature the PMO offer by seeking feedback and working with stakeholders to enhance and improve the quality of the service provided.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, embedding PPM best practice within the organisation.
