PMO Lead - £85,000 - Setting up PMO function - Remote
We are looking for an experienced PMO Lead to establish and run a technology and product PMO for a global technology organisation - circa 700 employees.
Please apply for this role if you have established a PMO function previously, only candidates who have proven experience of setting up a PMO function from scratch will be considered, due to client requirements.
The role will require some onsite presence to begin with in Oxfordshire to establish relationships and then can develop to fully remote.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role where you’ll work closely with the CTO, CPO, Project Managers and senior leadership, creating greater visibility and control across the technology portfolio.

Key responsibilities:
- Establish and continuously improve the PMO framework, governance and reporting
- Provide portfolio-level oversight across milestones, RAID, dependencies and delivery health
- Develop visibility of resource demand, capacity and utilisation
- Track budgets, forecasts, costs and benefits alongside Finance
- Produce concise, decision-focused reporting for executive and Board audiences
- Challenge Project Managers constructively and drive consistent reporting without direct line authority
- Improve and automate portfolio reporting and processes

What we’re looking for:
- Experience establishing, resetting or significantly improving a PMO
- Strong technology/product portfolio experience including Azure DevOps experience
- Excellent portfolio governance and delivery assurance capability
- Experience with resource/capacity planning and project financials
- Confident working directly with CTO/CPO/Board-level stakeholders
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge
- Comfortable operating as a highly autonomous, hands-on PMO Lead
Compensation and Location:
- 💰 Up to £85,000 (may be flexible)
- 🏠 Onsite initially in Oxfordshire, then the role can develop to remote
