About The Role

We're looking for an experienced PMO Lead to join a high-profile customer programme, providing governance, control and delivery assurance across a complex transformation environment. You'll play a key role in establishing and embedding effective programme management practices, ensuring leadership teams have the insight, reporting and governance needed to make informed decisions and successfully deliver programme outcomes.

Working closely with programme leadership, you'll act as a trusted advisor, bringing structure, challenge and continuous improvement to programme controls while building strong relationships across BT and customer stakeholder communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading programme governance and reporting processes, ensuring robust controls, clear decision-making and effective management information.
  • Managing and continually improving RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies) processes across the programme.
  • Providing challenge and assurance on programme data, reporting accuracy and risk management activities.
  • Preparing and facilitating governance forums, customer reviews and senior stakeholder meetings.
  • Tracking actions, decisions and deliverables to ensure commitments are completed on time.
  • Building strong relationships with programme teams, senior leaders and customer stakeholders to drive engagement and accountability.
  • Supporting the development of PMO standards, best practice and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing leadership and guidance across the wider PMO community, helping to raise capability and consistency.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Governance & Reporting: Proven experience establishing, managing and improving governance and reporting frameworks within complex programmes, including executive-level reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • RAID Management: Demonstrable experience owning and driving robust Risk, Assumption, Issue and Dependency management processes, proactively challenging and escalating where required.
  • PMO Transformation: Experience transforming or maturing PMO functions within customer-facing programme environments, improving ways of working, controls, governance and delivery outcomes.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience working within large-scale transformation, change or managed service programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting PMO team development.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation, action tracking and programme coordination skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the confidence to challenge information and assure data quality.
  • Experience supporting Programme Directors or senior delivery leaders within complex customer environments.
  • Knowledge of recognised project and programme management methodologies and governance best practice.
  • Experience within government, public sector or highly regulated environments.
