Shape the Future of PMO Delivery
Due to continued growth and an increase in PMO-related project wins, we are looking to appoint an experienced PMO Lead to establish, develop and mature our PMO capability.
This is a senior leadership opportunity with real influence - ideal for someone who thrives on building high-performing teams, shaping strategy and delivering best-in-class PMO solutions across complex environments.
As PMO Lead, you will play a pivotal role in defining and leading Walker Sime’s PMO service offering. You will establish and oversee multiple client PMOs, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across diverse programmes and portfolios.
Working closely with senior stakeholders internally and externally, you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to drive governance, delivery excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a scalable PMO framework aligned to Walker Sime best practice and client requirements
- Establish, manage and govern multiple client PMOs across a range of sectors and delivery environments
- Provide robust portfolio, programme and project controls, including:
- Planning and scheduling
- Reporting and performance tracking
- Risk, issue and change management
- Dependency management
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing insight, challenge and strategic recommendations
- Define and embed PMO standards, processes, tools and templates to drive consistency and quality
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing PMO team, including resource planning, mentoring and performance management
- Support business development activity, contributing to bids, proposals and client presentations
- Drive continuous improvement across the PMO function, embedding lessons learned and industry best practice
About You
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience establishing and leading PMOs within consultancy or complex delivery environments
- Strong understanding of portfolio, programme and project management disciplines and controls
- Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior and executive stakeholders
- Experience developing governance frameworks, PMO processes and reporting structures
- Strong leadership capability, with experience building and managing teams

Desirable
- Professional qualifications such as PPM, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP, APM or equivalent
- Experience within infrastructure, construction or regulated environments
- Commercial awareness, including involvement in bids and business development activity
