PMO Manager – M&A Integration & Transformation
West Midlands – Birmingham and Black Country area | Hybrid working | Permanent
We are recruiting an experienced PMO Manager for an established, partner-led services organisation delivering multiple concurrent acquisition integrations and business-transformation programmes.
This is a portfolio-level role rather than the management of one individual project. Working closely with the Head of PMO, Head of Integration, and senior leadership team, you will provide the governance, programme control, and management information required to maintain visibility and momentum across several complex workstreams.
You will create a single, reliable view of the project portfolio, connecting individual programmes and identifying critical dependencies, resource constraints, emerging risks, and decisions requiring senior-level intervention.
The position is focused on post-acquisition integration and transformation delivery rather than transactional deal execution.
Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain an integrated portfolio view across multiple projects, acquisition integrations, and transformation programmes.
- Develop clear roadmaps showing milestones, critical paths, dependencies, and competing priorities.
- Establish and maintain effective programme plans, RAID logs, decision logs, governance calendars, and reporting standards.
- Produce concise, decision-focused reporting for senior leaders and the Board.
- Monitor delivery across multiple workstreams and constructively challenge slippage, incomplete information, and unclear accountability.
- Support acquisition integrations from pre-completion readiness and Day One through to longer-term integration.
- Coordinate programme activity across People, Finance, IT, Risk, Operations, Business Development, and other corporate functions.
- Identify resource requirements and assess the impact of concurrent projects on organisational capacity.
- Track programme benefits, synergies, and wider strategic outcomes.
- Improve PMO dashboards, templates, systems, and working practices.
- Use technology, automation, and AI to improve reporting and reduce unnecessary administration.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
