About The Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our Portfolio Management Office (PMO), supporting construction and property-related programmes. This role will focus on aligning existing governance frameworks, templates and processes with portfolio reporting requirements, ensuring that project and programme information can be reported consistently, accurately and at the right level. The successful candidate will act as a close link between PMO, finance and delivery teams, helping to strengthen financial processes, improve forecast and cost reporting discipline, and support better financial control across the portfolio. The role requires strong analytical capability, confidence working with project data and a practical understanding of governance, reporting and financial control in a delivery environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Governance Alignment & Portfolio Reporting
- Review and align existing PMO governance frameworks, reporting templates and processes to meet portfolio-level reporting requirements.
- Support the development of consistent standards for project and programme data, ensuring information can be consolidated and reported clearly at portfolio level.
Financial Control & Process Improvement
- Work closely with finance and delivery teams to strengthen cost reporting, forecasting, accruals, purchase order and financial governance processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, data quality and process discipline, helping teams understand and apply standard ways of working.
Reporting & Analytics
- Support the preparation, assurance and improvement of portfolio reports, dashboards and packs, using consistent data definitions and reporting standards.
- Use Excel, Power BI and other Microsoft tools to analyse project, programme and financial data, highlighting trends, risks, exceptions and areas requiring action.

Resource & Financial Management
- Support portfolio-level budget tracking, forecasting, accruals and cost reporting activities by helping ensure data is complete, timely and aligned to agreed processes.
- Build strong working relationships with finance, commercial and delivery colleagues to improve shared understanding of financial processes and controls.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate communication between project teams, programme sponsors, finance and supply chain partners.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and governance reviews.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance PMO processes and tools.
- Support training and onboarding for project managers and team members.
Risk & Issue Management
- Monitor project and programme risks and issues, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Experience working in a PMO, project controls, project reporting, finance support or business operations environment.
- Understanding of project management methodologies, governance frameworks or portfolio management approaches.
- Power BI experience, including dashboard use, reporting outputs or supporting report development.
- Strong understanding of governance, reporting, financial control and process management in a project or programme delivery environment.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills and confidence working with data, reports, trackers and dashboards.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, process-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Commercial or cost control experience, particularly in a construction, property, infrastructure or project delivery environment.
- Knowledge of Power Automate, SharePoint Lists, Power Apps or other workflow automation tools.
- Experience supporting process improvement, data quality or reporting maturity initiatives.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., APM, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) are desirable.
