At Severn Trent, we do more than deliver water. We protect the environment, support communities, and invest in sustainable infrastructure that will serve generations to come. Join our award-winning organisation and play a pivotal role in turning ambition into reality.

With nearly 10,000 colleagues, we’re united by a shared purpose: to innovate, challenge the status quo, and deliver better outcomes for our customers and communities. This is your opportunity to be part of something meaningful — and to see the real-world impact of your planning expertise.

LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

We’re looking for an Enthusiastic and motivated Programme Planner to join our Strategic Delivery Office (SDO).

As a trusted planning professional, you’ll sit at the heart of programme delivery — working collaboratively with Delivery, Design, Commercial teams, and our supply chain partners. Your insight, analysis and foresight will directly influence decision-making, helping leaders understand schedule risk and performance, which will help to successfully deliver complex capital programmes.

This is a role for someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complexity, has confidence in their planning expertise, and wants their work to genuinely influence outcomes.

Location: Raynesway (Derby), Shelton (Shrewsbury) hybrid working 3 days in Office and 2 days WFH

Travel: Occasional site visits across the Midlands (full UK driving licence required)

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Developing, managing and reporting robust, integrated project and programme schedules
  • Embedding and championing SDO planning policies, standards and best practice
  • Proactively identifying, analysing and escalating Schedule risks, performance variances and change impacts
  • Monitor and audit supplier schedules for compliance with Severn Trent procedures, collaborating with suppliers to maintain and promote schedule quality
  • Work closely with delivery, commercial, and design teams throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure alignment, effective coordination, and successful outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
