PO & Project Coordinator
12 month FTC
Reading | Hybrid Working (Minimum 2 Days per Week in the Office)

MBNL is looking for a PO & Project Coordinator to join our Programme Management Office (PMO), providing essential support that helps our project and programme teams deliver successfully. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key member of a collaborative team, supporting financial processes, governance activities and project delivery across a varied and exciting portfolio.
As a PO & Project Coordinator, you'll be the go-to person for project administration, purchase order management, financial tracking and governance support. Working closely with Project Managers, Programme Managers, Finance teams and suppliers, you'll ensure processes run efficiently, issues are resolved quickly and project teams have the information they need to make informed decisions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining analytical work with stakeholder engagement, takes pride in delivering high-quality support and is always looking for ways to improve processes.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting Programme and Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing and coordinating the purchase order process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Monitoring and reporting on purchase orders, commitments and project expenditure.
- Tracking forecasts, budgets and financial performance, highlighting risks and trends.
- Supporting invoice resolution and payment queries while maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Managing goods receipting activities and helping reduce aged GRNI balances.
- Coordinating project governance activities, including meetings, steering groups and forums.
- Preparing agendas, meeting packs, minutes and action logs.
- Maintaining project trackers, reports and management information.
- Supporting project financial close activities and asset handovers.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, controls and ways of working.
- Promoting PMO best practice and governance compliance across projects.
What We're Looking For
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Advanced Excel skills, including data manipulation and complex formulas.
- Experience using ERP or financial systems such as IFS, SAP or Oracle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with a willingness to take ownership.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to build effective relationships across multiple teams and functions.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for finding smarter ways of working.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a PMO, programme or project environment.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2.
- Understanding of project accounting, forecasting, budgeting and financial controls.
- Experience improving reporting processes, governance activities or operational procedures.
- Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.
