About Monterail & The New Default

Monterail is a product design and software development company that has rebuilt how it works for the agentic era. Since 2010, we've designed and built web, mobile, and AI products for 400+ clients worldwide. Our video interview series, The New Default, documents how engineers, product leaders, CTOs, and founders at leading tech companies are building digital products with AI. Practical talk, real production stories, no buzzwords. With 100+ episodes and clips published, and long-form conversations with guests such as Samuel Colvin (creator of Pydantic) and Asaf Yonay (Head of Frontend Engineering, Wix), we're looking for a tech-savvy, native English-speaking host based in the UK to lead upcoming conversations and help grow the show's network.

Role Overview

As the host of "The New Default", you will own the end-to-end guest lifecycle, from identifying and reaching out to potential speakers to conducting insightful on-camera interviews. This is a flexible, freelance B2B engagement ideal for professionals who wish to host 2-3 conversations per month alongside their primary role or consulting work. Editing, post-production, and distribution are fully handled by Monterail's internal media team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
