Line Manager: Clinical Lead

The Details

  • Employed Part-Time Podiatrist
  • Based in Ilminster, Somerset
  • Clinic-based caseload
  • Salary £34,000 - £45,000 DOE, pro rated
  • Company Pension
  • Company uniform laundered onsite
  • 30 days holiday allowance, pro rated
  • CPD support and structured progression
  • Flexible working considered, must include rotation on one evening per week

Primary Position Objectives

The primary responsibilities of a podiatrist is to accurately assess foot health, diagnose pathology and create effective treatment plans based on patient goals and gold standard treatments. You will facilitate high patient satisfaction with thorough treatments and building trusting relationships.

You will work autonomously with decision making and deliver treatment to the highest standards within clearly defined processes, escalating where appropriate. You will work to the Company values and contribute to Company growth by building on our excellent reputation.

Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Brief Description of Duties

Clinical

  • Deliver high-quality podiatry care in line with HCPC standards, College of Podiatry guidance, and internal protocols
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals
  • Clearly explain treatment options and agree plans collaboratively with patients
  • Maintain accurate, compliant clinical records including notes, consent, and medical history
  • Maintain high standards of infection control, cleanliness, and clinical safety
  • Support colleagues in their work, discuss challenging cases and propose ideas for the clinic

Patient Management & Continuity

  • Build and maintain professional, trusting relationships with patients
  • Promote preventative care through appropriate follow-up recommendations
  • Proactively manage recalls for patients who have not rebooked as advised
  • Support patient self-care through education and appropriate product recommendations

Practice Operations

  • Ensure treatment rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each session
  • Request consumables and stock with sufficient notice to maintain service continuity
  • Use gaps in the diary productively, prioritising:
    • Patient-related tasks (notes, recalls, follow-ups)
    • Supporting team and clinic flow
    • CPD activities
  • Support front desk activities where required
  • Follow opening and closing procedures as a key holder

Team / Performance

  • Contribute to clinic performance through consistent clinical standards, appropriate rebooking, and patient engagement
  • Participate in KPI monitoring and use feedback to improve individual performance
  • Engage in one-to-ones with a reflective and proactive approach to development
  • Contribute ideas to improve patient experience, efficiency, and clinical outcome

Your First 12 Weeks

Weeks 1–4
A structured induction with shadowing, mentoring, and hands-on learning. Time to settle in, build confidence, and get to know how we work — without pressure.

Weeks 4–8
Gradual increase in independence, continued clinical support, and a clear development plan tailored to you.

Weeks 8-12
Clinical autonomy blended with accountability
