Job Purpose

  • To facilitate the smooth running of all tournament and cash game poker within the venue
  • Ensure that all the legal requirements as laid down by the government and the gambling commission coupled with all company policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • To ensure all poker games are dealt to standard and in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Accurate calculation and recording of tournament entries and re-buys, and accurate calculation and recording of cash game rake.
  • Development of the poker offering within the casino
  • Creating a company standard set of poker rules to which all games shall be dealt to

Main Responsibilities

  • To give all customers an excellent and attentive service at all times
  • Create a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere
  • To ensure all policies and procedures in the company manuals are strictly adhered to.
  • To ensure that all poker games are dealt to required standard
  • Liaise with management in regards to any mistakes or any suspicious transactions identified.
  • Adhere to all LCCP, AMLD, Health and Safety and fire regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and appearance
  • Ensure that the company uniform is clean and well maintained at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Key Stakeholders

  • General Manager, Gaming Manager, Duty Manager

Key Skill Requirements

  • Must have an up to date and valid PFL as issued by the gambling commission
  • Must have the ability to work as a team player, whilst maintaining a level of initiative
  • Willingness to work towards a PML as issued by the gambling commission
  • To work alongside poker dealer, gaming manager and general manager in developing the poker offering within the casino

Communication Skills

  • Excellent communication skills with an outgoing and friendly nature
  • Remain calm and reasoned when dealing with difficult situations and customers
  • Able to take instructions from management to ensure the smooth running of all poker games within the casino to enhance the customer experience
  • Able to give instructions to poker dealer to ensure the smooth running of all poker games within the casino to enhance the customer experience.

Technical Skills

  • Have a good standard of mental arithmetic
  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Be able to demonstrate ability to deal poker to a standard that they would expect of poker dealers

Personal Skills

  • Be focused on gaining knowledge of the poker environment within the local area and also have a strong desire to improve our own poker offer.
  • Be fully aware of poker compliance currently and able to adapt our own offering within these parameters.

  • Responsible for understanding and ensuring compliance with internal responsible gambling policies and UK Gambling Commission Licence Codes of Conduct and Practice (LCCP).
  • Prevent gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime.
  • Ensure that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way
  • Protection of children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
  • To promote awareness of responsible gambling strategies and procedures
  • Ensure responsible gambling is an integral part of daily operation
  • To actively participate and support the National Responsible Gambling Week
  • To be proactive in safeguarding our customers and the business by ensuring that standards of compliance both internally and externally are delivered to the highest level and opportunities to improve are identified to support the business objectives.
