Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Polarion ALM Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the design, configuration, and administration of enterprise-scale Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions built on Siemens Polarion. This is a senior, hands-on role for a practitioner who has led complex Polarion implementations end-to-end — from infrastructure setup and project template design through advanced customization, ALM-PLM integration, and CI/CD pipeline enablement. The ideal candidate combines deep platform expertise with the maturity to advise stakeholders, mentor junior team members, and own critical decisions around process, traceability, and tooling architecture across regulated and non-regulated engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture ALM related business requirement and conduct fit gap assessment
- Create To-Be architecture and define implementation roadmap for ALM/Polarion
- Lead end-to-end implementation and integration of Polarion ALM solutions across complex, multi-team engineering environments.
- Own the configuration and governance of Polarion projects and project templates, ensuring consistency and reusability across programs.
- Architect and deliver complex dashboards, wiki/live report pages, and Velocity-scripted widgets for real-time program visibility.
- Drive Polarion-PLM integration strategy and execution, aligning ALM traceability with downstream PLM systems.
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines integrating Polarion with engineering and build/test toolchains.
- Perform advanced administration of Polarion process management, including global/project roles, permissions, and access control.
- Lead ALM infrastructure setup, sizing, version upgrades, and data migration activities with minimal disruption to active programs.
- Establish and enforce best practices for Work Item, Document, Test Management, and Version Control configurations.
- Advise delivery and client stakeholders on ALM tooling strategy, providing SME-level guidance during presales, solutioning, and audits.
- Mentor and technically guide junior Polarion administrators and configuration engineers within the practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
