Polarion ALM Solution Architect / SME
Contract
Pay: Up to £500 per day (Outside IR35)
Location: UK – Hybrid (Preferably Midlands Based)
We are looking for an experienced Siemens Polarion ALM Solution Architect / SME to lead the design, implementation and integration of enterprise-scale ALM solutions within complex engineering environments. This is a senior, hands-on position requiring someone who can operate across Polarion architecture, configuration, administration and integration, while working closely with engineering and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable ALM solutions.
The Role
You will take ownership of the design and delivery of Polarion solutions, from initial requirements and fit-gap analysis through architecture, implementation, integration and ongoing platform governance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading end-to-end Siemens Polarion ALM implementations
- Gathering ALM requirements and conducting fit-gap assessments
- Defining To-Be architecture and implementation roadmaps
- Designing and governing Polarion projects, templates, workflows and processes
- Configuring Work Items, Documents, Test Management, roles and permissions
- Developing advanced dashboards, LiveReports, wiki pages and Velocity-scripted widgets
- Designing and delivering ALM–PLM integrations
- Integrating Polarion with CI/CD, build, test and wider engineering toolchains
- Supporting infrastructure architecture, sizing, upgrades and data migrations
- Establishing reusable standards and governance across multiple projects/programmes
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring to other Polarion specialists
- Acting as an SME with senior engineering, delivery and business stakeholders

You will have significant experience delivering ALM solutions and deep hands-on expertise with Siemens Polarion. We are particularly interested in experience across:

- Siemens Polarion administration and configuration
- Polarion solution architecture and implementation
- Project templates and multi-project governance
- Work Items, workflows, Documents and Test Management
- Polarion / PLM integration
- CI/CD and engineering toolchain integrations
- Polarion dashboards, LiveReports and Velocity scripting
- Infrastructure setup, upgrades and migrations
- Roles, permissions and process management
- Java/J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and XML
- Technical leadership and stakeholder engagement
Experience within complex engineering or regulated environments would be advantageous.
This opportunity would suit an established Polarion Solution Architect, Polarion SME, ALM Architect or Senior Polarion Technical Consultant looking to take ownership of enterprise-scale Polarion solutions.
