Salary
Starting Pay: Will be commensurate with the candidate's years of full-time service with the maximum starting salary being $102,957.13. Six (6) years of full-time Police Experience is required to reach the maximum pay.
(We are currently in contract negotiations)
Those individuals holding a certification as a part-time police officer from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board will be compensated at a rate of 1 year of salary for every two years of service. 12 years of part time experience is required to reach the maximum pay.

Position Details
The Midlothian Police Department will be accepting lateral transfer applications for the position of probationary Police Officer, on an open basis going forward.
Certified Law Enforcement Officers meeting the listed qualifications can submit an application, at any time. The application will be kept on file in the event of an open Full Time Probationary Police Officer position. The applications will be valid for 2 years.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for employment:
- Not less than twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of application
- Be a high school graduate
- Be of good moral character and sound health
- Have no criminal convictions or court supervisions for criminal offenses
- Have the ability to read and write English
- Have a Full Time Police Officer certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
- Be in good standing with the police department that the applicant currently serves or previously served and left within six (6) months of application for hire with the Village of Midlothian.
- Applicants holding a certification as a part-time police officer from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board with at least one (1) year of continuous uninterrupted service may be considered at the discretion of the Chief of Police.
