Are you a driven, analytical investigator with strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex cases? We are seeking a Police Staff Investigator (PIP Level 2) to join Nottinghamshire Police.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly established team focused on tackling Group Based Child Sexual Exploitation. This police staff investigator PIP 2 role reports to the CARE Detective Sergeant. The role involves investigating serious and complex crimes relating to Child Exploitation.

🚀 What you'll do

  • Lead and manage serious and complex criminal investigations
  • Develop investigation plans, prioritise lines of enquiry and gather evidence
  • Interview victims, witnesses and suspects in line with legislation and best practice
  • Prepare high-quality case files in line with CPIA and court requirements
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support investigations
  • Attend court to present evidence and support prosecutions
  • Identify risks, safeguarding concerns and intelligence opportunities
  • Represent the organisation at case conferences and multi-agency meetings

💡 What We’re Looking For

  • Experience or knowledge of the criminal justice system and investigative processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and meet strict deadlines
  • High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate documentation
  • Resilience and ability to work in sensitive or challenging situations
  • PIP Level 1 qualification (or equivalent experience) and willingness to achieve PIP Level 2
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgement when making decisions
