The Role
This is a great opportunity for a paralegal with police station accreditation to join our busy team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, dedicated, and take pride in their work, conducting themselves in a professional and friendly manner. First-class client care is essential, as is the ability to collaborate as part of a busy team to meet the firm’s commitments in the Police Station and assist with the preparation of Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court cases under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Attending the Police Station
- Supporting fee earners in preparation of Magistrates and Crown Court cases
- Legal aid applications
- Some out-of-hours work
- Legal research
- Attending court hearings and conferences

- Accredited Police Station Representative
- Experience of criminal law casework
- Knowledge of Lexcel compliance
- An ability to work independently
- Experience of case management software and working digitally

- The role is based in St. Albans, but you may be required to travel further afield occasionally.

- Full-time (Office hours 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday)
- Initially office-based
- Competitive salary in the region of £30,000 p/a, dependant on experience
- Payment for out-of-hours Police Station attendances

Exceptional candidates will be considered for future opportunities to qualify as a solicitor, either through a training contract or a solicitor apprenticeship.
