Our client is a leading trade association for firms providing personal investment management and financial advice across the UK. Its members serve individuals, families, charities, pension funds, trusts and companies, and play a vital role in people's financial wellbeing and the UK's economic growth. It works at the heart of the debate with government, regulators and key stakeholders, as a small, collaborative team with real influence.
The opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further their policy career within a renowned trade association. You will join the Policy Team, with an initial focus on operational policy, regulation and innovation, working alongside experienced colleagues and member firms. You do not need to arrive as an expert: the role is designed to grow, with responsibility for your own topics, projects and working groups as your experience develops.
Main responsibilities:
- Support policy projects and workstreams affecting the UK wealth management and financial advice sector.
- Undertake research and support the drafting of consultation responses, policy papers, briefing notes, member communications, reports and presentations.
- Organise and support committees, working groups and workshops, including preparing agendas and materials, taking minutes and tracking actions.
- Monitor UK regulatory and policy developments, summarise the key points and share them with colleagues and members.
- Support member and stakeholder relationships, including responding to day-to-day queries and coordinating follow-up.
- Contribute to engagement with regulators, government, statutory bodies and industry partners, building your own relationships and profile over time.

Key skills and experience required:
- A real interest in financial services, regulation and public policy, and enthusiasm for building a career in these areas.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to read detailed information, identify the key points and communicate them clearly and accurately.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines in a predominantly remote environment.
- Good verbal and interpersonal skills, with the judgement and discretion to handle sensitive information appropriately.
- A curious, analytical approach, with the ability to research unfamiliar and sometimes complex subjects.
