Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy and Geopolitics Manager to join our global Government Relations and Sustainability (GR&S) team.
The Policy and Geopolitics Manager supports the delivery of policy for advocacy and leads the delivery of geopolitical insights for the enterprise through political and policy analysis, intelligence gathering, and internal and external stakeholder engagement. The role works closely with business leaders across the enterprise and GR&S colleagues worldwide to understand policy needs, capture risks and opportunities provided by the geopolitical environment, and provide the information and support required to achieve the enterprise’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
Geopolitics
- Lead the geopolitical insights and horizon scanning function for the enterprise, coordinating inputs across the global GR&S team, internal and external subject matter experts, and business leaders to ensure timeliness, relevance, and salience.
- Deliver geopolitical insights and manage the geopolitical risk process for the whole organisation, leveraging a wide network of internal and external subject matter experts.
- Develop internal executive and leadership briefs and develop thorough and understandable analysis of major strategic geopolitical chokepoints and events that may affect the enterprise in the future.
- Act as the enterprise-wide point of contact for all geopolitical matters across the organisation, ensuring geopolitical insights are factual, timely, and relevant for the enterprise.

Policy
- Deliver strategic policy development projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and objectives are met, and identifying and mitigating policy-related risks impacting the company.
- Develop and draft internal policy proposals, position papers, and briefing materials, working with key stakeholders across the organisation to produce materials for public advocacy and to effect change externally.
- Ensure all policy initiatives comply with internal standards and legal requirements, maintaining alignment and consistency, and monitor and analyse internal developments relevant to the pursuit of Group objectives.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of current policies and recommend improvements, working with the Strategy team and in-country corporate affairs leads to define playbooks and best practices.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, Business Strategy or a related field.
- At least 5–8 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, geopolitical risk analysis, business strategy or a related role in a corporate, consultancy, think tank, or government setting.
- Strong understanding of the global political and regulatory landscape, including key geopolitical trends, trade dynamics, and regulatory regimes relevant to the industry.
- Demonstrated experience drafting policy papers, position statements, and executive-level briefing materials.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from inception to delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior executives, government officials, and external experts.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex geopolitical and policy issues into clear, actionable insights.
- Sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.

Preferred Requirements
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in International Relations, Public Policy, Security Studies, or a related discipline.
- Experience working across multiple regions or in a multinational organisation.
- Established network within policy, diplomatic, or geopolitical risk communities (e.g. government, multilateral institutions, think tanks, risk consultancies).
- Experience in horizon scanning or structured analytic techniques for risk assessment.
