Salary: £29,197 to £35,037 per annum (depending on experience, plus a London weighting allowance as appropriate)
Location: The APCC office is in Westminster, London. We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements.
Contract: Fixed term contract or secondment to 31 March 2027.
Closing Date: 31 August 2026.
The Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC) has an exciting opportunity for a Policy Assistant to work on national policy relating to Victims and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), supporting our Deputy Mayor and Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) members.
You’ll be supporting the delivery of the APCC’s policy work by providing administration, research, and policy support to Policy Officers and Managers, in addition to senior stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in helping the wider team draft briefings, reports, and consultation responses that ensure our members’ views are heard and represented, analysing policy developments and consultations, organising events and meetings, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across policing, government, and partner organisations.

You will work proactively with the wider APCC team, including the Communications and Public Affairs team, to support business planning, performance monitoring, and organisational priorities.
Working with the guidance of senior staff, you’ll develop your policy, research, and stakeholder engagement skills, while contributing to the successful delivery of the APCC’s objectives.

About the APCC: The APCC is the national membership organisation representing PCCs, Deputy Mayors, and other local policing bodies. We work across England and Wales to support PCCs to provide national leadership and drive strategic change in policing, criminal justice, and community safety, operating in the public interest.
