Front-Row Seat to Shaping the Future of the UK's Energy System

We're looking for an experienced Policy Principal to join Ofgem's Chief of Staff's Office, working directly with our CEO and Chair on the biggest policy challenges facing the organisation and the sector. This is a rare opportunity to operate at the heart of decision-making and influence how Ofgem responds to the opportunities and challenges of the energy transition. The role provides policy advice, challenge, coordination, and delivery support to the CEO and Chair on major organisational and regulatory priorities.

You'll act as a trusted adviser and critical friend, testing policy thinking, challenging assumptions, identifying risks and trade-offs, and helping ensure Ofgem's most important programmes are robust and aligned with leadership priorities. You'll also play a key role in unblocking complex issues, coordinating action across teams, and maintaining momentum on high-profile strategic priorities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
