Location: Basildon, Essex
Pay Rate: £14.06 per hour
Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:00-16:00, Fri 07:30-12:30

We are currently recruiting for a Polisher/Fettler to join a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Basildon. This is a hands-on, precision engineering role working on aircraft components to customer-defined specifications and aerospace quality standards. As a Polisher/Fettler you will be responsible for carrying out deburring and polishing of parts within a machine shop environment.

Duties

  • Removing burrs and sharp edges using files, scrapers and rotary tools
  • Grind/polish materials to drawing requirements using air/hand tools to achieve the required finish.
  • Light polishing of various steel and aluminium components
  • Visual inspection of completed products.
  • Completing appropriate documentation.
  • Working to ISO 50001/14001/45001/9001 standards
  • Support the Energy team and consider energy reduction and savings within the scope of your role leading to continuous improvement

Skills & Experience Required

  • Must be able to work from a list and take verbal instructions.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to stand/sit for long periods is essential
  • Ability to carry out repetitive work and must have an honest and motivated approach to work undertaken.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Available to work overtime as and when required.
  • Excellent hand eye coordination is essential
  • Must be able to work with measuring/inspection equipment.
