Job Title: Pool and Leisure Assistant

Salary: £25,861.49 per annum, plus opportunity for bonus payments for fitness class delivery (for qualified candidates)
Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Permanent
Hours: 16 - 39 hours per week
Live-in accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates.

Role Location: This role is based on-site at Langdale Hotel and Spa, Ambleside, LA22 9JD.

Role Summary

Our Fitness and Leisure team are passionate about customer care, and knowledgeable about the products and services they offer to our guests. Our team thrive off delivering a fun and enjoyable experience to our guests and take pride in making a trip to the leisure facilities into a wonderful lifelong memory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the gym, swimming pool, and public areas.
  • Deliver professional, friendly, and welcoming customer service to members and guests.
  • Follow departmental procedures, safety regulations, and hygiene standards in relation to pool plant operations.
  • Promote fitness programmes, gym inductions, and leisure facilities to guests and members.
  • Engage positively with guests to enhance their overall leisure experience.
  • Support the team in creating a safe, enjoyable, and memorable environment.
  • Assist with additional duties as required to support the smooth operation of the leisure facilities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a welcoming and community-focused atmosphere.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification (desirable).
  • Has Pool Plant Operations experience and/or qualification (desirable).
  • Has Pool Responder/Lifeguard response experience and a strong understanding of pool safety procedures (desirable).
  • First Aid qualified or willing to obtain certification.
  • Previous experience in leisure, fitness, hospitality, or cleaning roles is desirable but not essential.
  • Eager to learn, develop new skills, and grow their career through training and support.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer care.
  • Friendly, approachable, and confident interacting with guests and members.
  • Takes pride in creating positive and memorable customer experiences.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
  • Enthusiastic about promoting fitness and leisure services.
  • Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to the workplace culture.
