NILES FAMILY FITNESS CENTER

About The Role

Join our team and become our new part-time Pool Manager at the Niles Family Fitness Center. This position assists the Aquatics Coordinator with the daily operation of the Village’s aquatics facility, covering day-to-day pool operations, staffing and guard rotation, water quality, and the safety of members and guests. The Pool Manager works up to 19 hours per week and is a non-bargaining unit position.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Assists the Aquatics Coordinator with the daily operation of the Village’s aquatics facility.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations and staffing needs and takes an active part in the guard rotation.
  • Enforces all rules and guidelines set by the Village of Niles and the Niles Family Fitness Center.
  • Maintains and promotes a clean and safe environment at all times and ensures that staff has the proper uniform and equipment.
  • Assists the Aquatics Coordinator in maintaining and monitoring proper pool chemical levels.
  • Remains available to staff to address concerns and to provide assistance on deck when needed.
  • Maintains a positive image through good public relations with members and guests and cooperates with co-workers across other Village departments.
  • Keeps administration informed of problems, concerns, or situations that arise; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications For Success

  • Hold a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification; Lifeguard Instructor certification is preferred.
  • Bring a working knowledge of pool operations, staff, special events, and aquatic programs.
  • Present a professional attitude and a positive image in every interaction with members, guests, and staff.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for at least 30 minutes at a time, and follow the operational procedure manual to ensure the safety of members and guests.
