Role: Poppy Appeal Finance Officer
Location: London, Haig House, with hybrid working
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part Time, 21 hours per week
Salary: £19,921 per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Supplement (£33,202 FTE)

We are looking for a Poppy Appeal Finance Officer to join our dedicated Poppy Appeal Finance team on a part-time basis. This role plays an important part in ensuring Poppy Appeal income is processed accurately, recorded correctly, and managed in line with robust financial controls.
Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Fundraising, and Poppy Appeal Operations, you will help provide the financial administration and operational support that underpins one of the UK's most recognised fundraising campaigns.
As Poppy Appeal Finance Officer, you will support the accurate processing and reconciliation of Poppy Appeal income, maintaining high-quality financial records and helping to ensure reliable reporting. You will be responsible for a range of finance administration activities, contributing to the smooth and effective delivery of the Poppy Appeal.
Reporting to the Poppy Appeal Finance Manager, key responsibilities will include:
- Process and record Poppy Appeal income accurately
- Complete reconciliations of income records and financial transactions
- Perform routine financial checks, validations, and data quality reviews
- Investigate and resolve routine discrepancies
- Maintain accurate financial records, databases, and spreadsheets
- Support the preparation of financial reports and management information
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders in a professional and timely manner

You will have experience of processing and reconciling financial transactions, along with strong numeracy skills and a keen eye for detail. You will be comfortable working with finance systems, Excel, and databases, and will enjoy collaborating with colleagues while managing your own workload effectively.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 21 hours across 3 days per week. You will be contracted to our London, Haig House, Hub with a minimum expectation of one day per week - must be Tuesday - working in person at the Hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check as part of the pre-employment checks process.
